"We're almost there," Ethan said bringing his helicopter down faster until the red lights on the top of his sister and brother-in-laws hotel were visible by eye. "Press the button baby," he told Panda, who was riding shotgun and practically his copilot at this point in their return journey.
"Hunters to Moreau. Hunters to Moreau. Are we clear for.. for a landing?" The adventurous little girl spoke up into her headset while pressing the transmission button.
"Clear for landing, Hunters. Clear for landing." Eva answered back with a smile on her face, "Bring him on in PJ!"
"You're clear for landing Dad," she told Ethan, flipping another switch to illuminate the belly of their helicopter.
Out on the roof, Eva was already waiting by the elevator for her brother, niece and special guest to arrive. She knew her Ethan was taking a fellow Freak to Utah a few days ago, but she had no idea he would be coming back with someone new entirely.
As soon as Taye was certain they had touched down, he was flinging off his helmet and harness to open the door. Seeing someone was waiting for him, he ran out with his head ducked down and wild curls flinging around in the intense wind from the helicopter's rotors. "Are you Eva?? Eve told me you would be the one to take me to Amadeo!"
The second her model's name was spoken, Eva lifted her chin up defensively. "No one sees him unless they go through me. It's been two days, but I won't have anyone else sneaking into my hotel to hurt someone I care for and employ."
"I love him," Taye easily confessed in his sweet South African accent, "I promise I don't want to hurt him. I came to help him heal, I swear it."
Able to tell in an instant by looking into his exhausted eyes he was telling the truth, Eva only nodded before picking up her device to dismiss her brother and niece. "Clear for take off when ready Hunters. Safe flight home." After putting her transmitter back in her pocket, she took the newcomers hand to lead him down to Amadeo's floor.
While Kei was no longer at the door, Eva was certain she had only left to do other patrols. "I've had a bodyguard outside his door as much as possible. She might have taken a quick break, but you can just tell her to check her messages from me if she gives you any trouble later. He's free to leave, I just want to make sure no one sneaks up on him again." Knocking before she opened the door herself, she let Taye take it from there.
Walking in slowly, making sure he was not about to get caught off guard, Taye took small steps in and nodded to Eva before closing the door behind him. Nervous to his core, he slipped his backpack off and said the name of his teacher and long lost love. "Ama--" Needing to clear his throat, he tried again with a little more strength in his deep voice, "Amadeo?"
